Joey Savatgy Takes 3rd in Santa Clara

Corona, Calif. (April 4, 2016) – The Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki Team entered Santa Clara with speed and determination. Joey Savatgy started the night off by winning the holeshot and taking the win in Heat 1. Teammate Chris Alldredge followed closely behind and finished in 4th. After a successful heat, the duo continued their podium assault into the Main Event. The night ended with Savatgy landing on the podium and even hungrier for the championship.

Joey Looks to Finish Strong
Joey Savatgy entered Saturday’s race more determined than ever to finish on top of the box. Early victories in Heat 1 would help build momentum leading into the Main Event. Quickly finding his way to the front of the pack, he would find himself on the podium for the fifth time this season. Currently sitting in 2nd place in the Western Point Standings, Savatgy will enter Sam Boyd Stadium refueled and eager to bring home the championship.

“But we came out of here with twenty points and we still have a shot at the title. It’s never over till it’s over, I just made it a little harder on myself. Overall I’m happy though. I rode well, just didn’t get a good start.”

Chris Pushes Through
Fighting through an injury the entire evening, Chris Alldredge pushed himself throughout the night and earned points in Heat 1. Despite an earlier crash during practice, he was able to bounce back in the first heat. Narrowly missing the holeshot to teammate Joey, Chris rode strong throughout the entire heat. Finishing the race in 4th, he was ready to prove himself in the Main Event. Alldredge did not keep his usual pace throughout the main and ended the night in 14th.

“I qualified fourth out of my Heat Race today, which I was happy with. The Main Event did not go how I wanted it to, but my crash from practice this morning left me sore. It was difficult to keep my normal pace with everything that happened, but I pushed as hard as I was able to. It’s not the result I wanted, but I’ll keep after it and come back strong at the next round.”
