Fifth consecutive podium for Jordi Tixier in France
/in Race NewsWith his fifth consecutive podium for the Monster Energy Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team in the French round of the FIM World Motocross Championship Jordi Tixer has advanced to fourth in the series.
The defending champion immediately felt at home on the hillside track at Villars-sous-Ecot to record the fastest time in first practice and finish second in both timed practice and the qualifying race. After a second placed start in the opening GP moto he took the lead on the seventh of twenty laps and controlled the race for six laps before eventually finishing third. Another third place in race two earnt third place overall on the podium and the 40 points have lifted him to fourth in the series even though he missed three motos earlier in the season.
Recent signing Petar Petrov showed that he is quickly settling into the team as he also showed good speed all weekend to finish the GP seventh overall. His first race ride from ninth to fifth was impressive and he added an eighth place in race two to advance to eleventh in the points standings.
Jordi Tixier: “I felt really good all weekend until the second moto when I couldn’t find a good rhythm to follow Jeffrey (Herlings) and Tim (Gajser). Racing in front of my home crowd made this GP very different from the others; the crowd pushed us and being on the podium at this event is always great. When I took the lead in the first race it was just amazing ! It’s my fifth podium in a row and my goal is always to be consistent but also to improve my speed to be higher on the podiums.”
Petar Petrov: “The weekend was good; I’m happy with the bike and the team. I got a good start in the first race and then made some good passes to finish fifth, but my second start was horrible; I came from nineteenth to eighth but then the group in front of me was gone. I pushed hard but never had a good feeling with the track and just missed the top five overall by one point. We’ve now got two weeks to prepare for the next GP.”

ProX Gold Drive Chain for MX and ATV’s now Available
/in Product NewsProX has developed a premium line of Roller Chains to team up together with the ProX front and rear sprockets. The ProX Roller Chain is a top quality chain, exclusively manufactured for ProX by a reputable and leading OEM factory in Japan. All ProX chains are made using highest grade Japanese steel.
The MX motocross chains are assembled out of various different components that all have their specific and crucial function to make the chain a high quality product. The pins feature an exclusive pin treatment providing an extremely hard outside coating, leaving a softer inside to increase strength while reducing overall chain wear. The pins are heavy press fitted and do feature quad staked riveting for an ultra-strong connection.
The solid bush inside the shot-peened, solid roller and plates are all heat treated to offer an incredible tensile strength in combination with low friction and high wear resistance.
Inner plates are designed in a specific shape allowing less material to be used. The combination with the unique lightning holes results in a 3% overall lighter chain
without compromising tensile strength.
Specifically for the Offroad, Enduro, ATV and big 4-Stroke Motocross bikes, ProX also offers a lightweight, narrow type X-Ring chain using a QX-type seal offering 40% less friction and at least 150% increased durability over a standard MX Chain.
All ProX chains are pre-stressed and pre-stretched to reduce initial chain stretch and immediate performance and come with a clip type chain link as standard.
